Services

For adults and adolescents.

In both counseling and sport psychology there is a goal to help change thought patterns through mental skills training which will aid in such areas as: confidence boosting, enhancing focus & abilities to refocus, developing the tools to manage discomfort & stress and optimizing your overall abilities to perform in competition and life.

  • PERSONALIZED APPROACH

  • PRACTICAL TOOLS

  • MINDSET SHIFTS

  • COLLABORATIVE EXPERIENCE

  • I believe therapy is a collaborative process. I plan to walk along side you as we work as a team to identify areas to make changes to enrich your life. I am going to challenge you to work through discomfort. I will aid you in reducing problematic behaviors and thought patterns. I recognize everyone is unique and therefore, I will adapt interventions and techniques to speak to your style and needs. I will use a holistic approach in order to assist you in creating an overall fulfilling lifestyle. I will lean into evidence-based modalities, specifically, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as this targets both the mental and behavioral changes we are aiming to accomplish. We will develop and check-in on your goals frequently to make sure we are continuing to be on course. And together, we will determine when you’ve reached the “finish line”.

  • I believe therapy is meant to be a place for learning and hard work. I'll provide a safe and nonjudgmental environment through compassion and respect. I do my best to take on your viewpoint while often seeking feedback to gage my accuracy. I will challenge negative thinking patterns and behaviors that are out of line with your goals. I can be playful and direct, depending on what style is needed. I will bring in activities and assign homework in order for you to continue growing in and outside of our sessions together. I enjoy providing psychoeducation as well as continuing to grow and learn myself, so please feel free to teach me something new too.

How it works

  • I will reach out to you and share about myself and my services. During this brief chat, I will ask specific questions to gain insight about your current challenges, needs and goals for therapy. I will let you know how I can help and then we will schedule our first appointment together. If we are not a fit, I am happy to try to connect you to someone else who could be.

  • I will virtually provide you with all documents needed to complete prior to our first appointment together. Some forms will ask for details about your experiences, including elements of your life history. Take your time and provide what you feel comfortable sharing. The other documents I will provide you include details regarding my therapeutic services and require your e-signature for consent.

  • In tour first appointment together, our goal will be to get to know you in more depth as we establish a comfortable and compatible working relationship. I will offer feedback and direction, as appropriate, while giving you plenty of space to share your story. Prior to ending, we will establish goals and a plan for attendance.

FAQs

  • My current rates are as follows:

    $150 per individual 50-minute session.

    $180 per couple 50-minute sessions.

$180 per family 50-minute sessions (all participants ages 14+).

You have the right to request/receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining your mental health services and fees. This document contains additional information (i.e., billing codes) and an estimate of fees for up to 12 months.

  • I am currently not accepting insurance. I am happy to provide you with a monthly superbill for potential insurance reimbursement.

  • It depends. Therapy can help patients meet their goals within 3-5 sessions while others may enjoy maintaining sessions more long-term (i.e., 6 months, to a year or even longer). Engaging in ongoing therapy offers the opportunity to get into more detailed work (e.g., allows us to explore your history and how certain behaviors continue to manifest in your daily life and relationships).

  • I work with individuals, couples, and/or families (all participants ages 14+) throughout the state of California.

Currently, I see patients 14+ as I have found this age typically has the necessary maturity to focus for a 50-minute virtual session.

  • It will depend; a lot can impact therapy frequency (e.g., level of need).

Typically, we will begin meeting 1x a week to enhance the therapeutic work and benefits. As we see progress towards your goals, we can transition to bi-weekly, monthly or as needed.

  • It’s therapy online or over the phone rather than in person.

Currently, I am only offering virtual services through a secure confidential video platform.

  • Sport Psychology focuses on a person's mental knowledge and skills to achieve optimal performance and overall health benefits. It addresses aspects of sports and/or performance enhancement.

Sport Psychology techniques in therapy are used to help enhance focus, improve mindset, boost confidence, manage perfectionism and build trust in yourself and your abilities. Additionally, like therapy, sport psychology teaches lessons, helps uncover challenges, supports in developing helpful routines and teaches you tools to heighten performance (i.e., in sports, at work, in school, etc.).

  • No. I have a Master of Arts in Kinesiology: Sport Psychology and have worked with athletes throughout my career using Sport Psychology Techniques (e.g., visualization, mindfulness training, breathwork, mental skills training).

A Sport Psychologist has completed the required state exam & supervised training hours for the Certified Mental Performance Consultant licensure.

My licensure, completed state exam, and supervised hours are specific to counseling.
